BLOOMINGTON — Ross Mitton broke a tie midway through the second period and the Fargo Force finished the game with four unanswered goals Friday to claim a 6-2 victory over the Central Illinois Flying Aces before a crowd of 962 at Grossinger Motors Arena.
Steven Agriogianis and Zach Metsa had the goals for the Aces, who were outshot 48-14 in falling to 12-31-5 as their winless streak reached 14 games. Ryan Snowden made 42 saves, eclipsing 40 for the second time in his last five appearances.
Ben Meyers had two goals for the Force (25-14-7) while Mark Senden, Grant Hebert and Griffin Loughran finished the four-goal surge. Loughran's goal came on a penalty shot with 7:49 to play. Strauss Mann made 12 saves for Fargo.
Agriogianis gave the Aces a 1-0 lead 11 minutes into the game before Myers tied it. His second goal gave Fargo a 2-1 lead in the second before Metsa got the Aces even.
The teams conclude their two-game series with a 7:07 p.m. game Saturday.
