MUSKEGON, Mich. — Anthony Del Gaizo and Keegan Karki prevented the Central Illinois Flying Aces from starting a winning streak Saturday.
Del Gaizo scored two goals and Karki stopped 25 of 27 shots to propel the Muskegon Lumberjacks to a 4-2 victory over the Aces at L.C. Walker Arena.
Simon Butala and Jakub Lacka had the goals for Central Illinois (8-9-1). Zach Stejskal made 27 saves in the first of five straight road games for the Aces.
Lacka's team-leading ninth goal pulled the Aces within a goal with less than seven minutes to play, but Del Gaizo restored the Lumberjacks' two-point cushion less than three minutes later.
Del Gaizo scored the first goal of the game but Butala answered to keep the game tied after one period. But Vincent de May and Wyatt Bongiovanni put Muskegon ahead in the second.
The Aces return to action next Saturday against the Team USA under-18 squad in Plymouth, Mich.
