KEARNEY, Neb. — Ryan Snowden stopped all three 31 shots he saw and the Central Illinois Flying Aces got a pair of power play goals in the third period Friday for a 2-0 victory over the Tri-City Storm at the Viaero Center.

Captain Cameron Burke broke the scoreless battle with just over six minutes to play with assists from Max Andreev and Charlie Raith.

Drew Elser added an extra-man empty net tally with 1:23 left as the Aces improved to 11-18-4 overall with their second straight victory.

Andreev assisted both goals, boosting his team-high total to 20. Michael Maloney also had a helper on Elser's tally.

Filip Larsson made 23 stops for the Western Conference-leading Storm (21-8-2), but Snowden outperformed him with 24 stops through the first two periods.

The teams conclude the weekend series with a 7:35 p.m. rematch Saturday.
