Diver leads Lincoln at nationals

LINCOLN — Tyler Clingerman became Lincoln College’s first diver to win national titles in two events in consecutive years this past weekend when he won the 1- and 3-meter events at the National Junior College Athletic Association championships at Buffalo, N.Y.

The Louisville recruit was named diver of the year, while Lincoln’s Matt Dickinson picked up diving coach of the year recognition for the second straight year.

Roller Derby set for April 9 at Coliseum

The McLean County MissFits women’s roller derby team will host its first home bout at 6:30 p.m. April 9 at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.

All tickets are $15 each.

Zion Lutheran finishes 4th at state

LINCOLN — The Zion Lutheran School girls basketball team finished fourth in the Lutheran Sports Association state basketball tournament last weekend in the Chicago area. Team members include Faith Smith, Alysa Cox, Caitlin Williams, Lizzie Tripplett, Grace Walters, Lexie Groves, Rachel Lockenour, Lizzie Ford, Anna Walters, Anna Sielaff, Hailie Williams and Brooklyn Hermes. Coaches are Todd Koehler and Box Cox.

The team finished the season with a 27-5 record.

Smith and Walters were named to the all-tournament team.
