25 years ago (1992): Jodi Weir collected 13 assists and nine service points, and Keri Snyder chipped in 14 kills as Deer Creek-Mackinaw completed an undefeated Midstate Conference campaign with a win over Gridley. The victory was also the Chiefs’ 20th straight.

50 years ago (1967): Illinois State’s undefeated football Redbirds have emerged from one of their toughest games thus far in good condition. “We’re probably as healthy this week as we have been for some time,” said Coach Larry Bitcon as he assessed the 21-17 victory over Western Illinois.
