15 years ago (2002): Illinois State tied first-year Missouri Valley women’s soccer program Drake 0-0 in double overtime. “Drake plays a physical and aggressive game,” ISU coach Pete Kowall said. “They are a good team and are going to do well in the league.”

25 years ago (1992): Illinois State athletic director Ron Wellman has accepted the same position at Wake Forest. ISU president Thomas Wallace appointed Linda Herman to serve as acting athletic director upon Wellman’s Oct. 26 departure.

50 years ago (1967): Chatsworth High School bombed Reddick, 46-6, in a Vermillion Valley Conference game. Mark Haberkorn led the Bluebirds (4-0) with three touchdowns, while Mike Somers added two and kicked four extra points.
