15 years ago (2002): Michael Martin ran wild at Farmer City, rushing for 278 yards and three touchdowns to lead Tri-Valley past host Blue Ridge 37-14 in Sangamon Valley Blue Division action. The Vikings improved to 4-3 to keep their playoff hopes alive.

25 years ago (1992): Illinois Wesleyan cornerback Rick Kozolowski was named defensive player of the week and senior guard Erik Nelson was named lineman of the week as the duo led the Titans to a 33-19 College of Conference and Illinois league victory over Wheaton.

50 years ago (1967): Central Catholic won its first cross country meet ever at St. Clare School by beating Stanford, 21-35. It was also the first home cross country meet in history for Central. Tom Williamson, a Central sophomore, ran the 1.9-mile course in 10 minutes, 32 seconds for first place.
