5 years ago (2012): Quarterback Addison Bounds rushed for two touchdowns and passed for two to propel Prairie Central to a 51-6 victory over Corn Belt Conference rival Pontiac. Bounds completed 8 of 13 passes for 218 yards with touchdown passes of 59 and 32 yards to Kyle Moody.

15 years ago (2002): Illinois State’s Liina Suurvarik and Alesia Mikalayeva won the No. 1 doubles title in the Missouri Valley Conference Individual Tennis Championships at Springfield, Mo.

25 years ago (1992): Brian Harvey scored two goals to lead Normal Community to a 5-2 Big 12 Conference soccer victory over visiting Stephen Decatur. Harvey scored off an assist from Brad Wurth, and scored his second goal on a corner kick, also from Wurth.

50 years ago (1967): Bloomington’s Jim Bowers set a course record for 1.94 miles at BHS, but the Purple Raiders dropped a 23-36 cross country decision to rugged Urbana. Bowers covered the distance in 9 minutes, 28 seconds.
