15 years ago (2003): Bloomington’s 1953 baseball team, which finished second in the state tournament when it was a one-class affair, will be honored May 3 between games of a BHS doubleheader. Dinner and a visit to the grave of their coach, Howard Saar, will be part of the day.
25 years ago (1993): Since its birth in 1978, the Prairie Cities Soccer League has needed fields. That need will be met with the announcement of plans for a 50.1-acre, 20-field complex on Bloomington’s east side. PCSL president Quinton Koch has been a driving force behind the project.
