ENJOYING THE SCENERY

SAY FROMAGE – A group led by EHS teacher Mindy Mahannah pose in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris over the summer.

EUREKA - Mindy Mahannah is passionate about helping young people develop a curiosity for experiencing other cultures. To that end, she led an EF Educational Tour to Europe this past summer and she is looking forward to future trips as the incoming advisor of the Travel Club at Eureka High School.

“I just think it’s important that kids are able to see the world,” said the EHS English teacher. “It makes such a lasting impact.”

Mahannah accompanied a group of 16 students the first full weekend of June to Europe with stops in the cities of London, Rome and Paris.

She added the European trip gave students the chance to be immersed in other cultures and to learn about the art and the history of each of the places.

Mahannah will take over the advisor role from EHS art teacher Chris Wells, who has held the title since 2003. Wells will lead his final group on a trip to Italy in the summer of '19.
