EUREKA - Woodford County's road and bridge committee has recommended Conrad Moore to the position of highway engineer on an interim basis. Lindell Loy's last day on the job is today before he departs for a post with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources in Springfield.
Moore has been working as an engineer with the county for the past three years with a specialization in hydraulics. He is interested in the permanent position of highway engineer, but he must first pass the Illinois Department of Transportation's specialized exam in order to complete certification.
The road and bridge committee interviewed Moore this past Thursday. His appointment is subject to approval of the county board, which has a meeting next Tuesday night.
