ROANOKE - The village board is contemplating possible involvement in economic development organizations mainly to help find grant money for municipal projects, but board members want more information before making a decision that costs money.
At Monday's meeting, they approved board president Mike Smith to start of the process of networking with other elected officials in the county and get more involved in exchanging information, but Smith noted he is not enough of a visionary and does not have enough knowledge to serve on any organized economic development boards.
“I’m not the person to sit on a board,” he said.
Smith added if another board member wants to serve in that type of position if it becomes available, they can let him know.
