EUREKA - A joint reorganization feasibility study has recommended that Congerville Goodfield Eureka District No. 140 and Roanoke-Benson District 60 consolidate into a unit district.
That was the result of a four-month project conducted by Midwest School Consultants (MSC), who released detailed information to both district school boards and the public during a Feb. 22 meeting in the Eureka High auditorium. MSC was represented by a three-member panel.
“I see synchronicity,” said Dr. William Phillips to a group of over 100. “These communities are close and they could be closer… It boils down to what’s best for the most kids. If you use that method, overall, it’s a good thing.”
The study analyzed several different factors about the districts including financial profiles, enrollment, curriculum, transportation, facilities and incentives to consolidate.
