EUREKA - According to results of a recent survey handed out in District 140, 55 percent oppose consolidation versus 37 percent that support it. That was mentioned at Monday night's school board meeting.
Superintendent Bob Bardwell told the board 640 of the 3,819 households inside the district took part in the survey. Nearly two-thirds of the respondents resided in town and the remaining respondents were split between Congerville and Goodfield.
“We need to think how hard do we want to make the administrators work facing this head wind,” commented board president Chad Leman. “With this result, I would be hesitant to take the next step forward.”
Among other data derived from the survey found individuals did not see a clear benefit to consolidate with neighboring Roanoke-Benson.
