WORLD TRAVELERS

Angie and Chris Wells are seen in front of the Roman Colosseum during a trip with the Eureka High School Travel Club back in 2003. He will be accompanied by his wife for one final trip as club advisor back to Italy in the summer of '19.

EUREKA - Over the last 14 years, Eureka High School art teacher Chris Wells has led trips to countless cities in nine different countries, giving more than 100 students an opportunity to experience more of the world. In June 2019, he will travel to Italy for his last trip as advisor of the Travel Club.

The initial trip took place in '03 as Wells and his wife, Angie, accompanied two EHS students on a two-week expedition to Greece and Italy.

“Since then,” Chris Wells said, “my wife and I try to travel every third year, allowing students at least one opportunity during their high school career to see a bigger world than simply corn fields of Eureka.”

The couple pondered where to go on the final trip, as they considered Japan, Egypt, Australia, India, Iceland as well as one to observe the castles of Britain in England and Scotland.
