GERMANTOWN HILLS – A local resident was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Illinois Route 116 Saturday afternoon. According to Woodford County Coroner Tim Ruestman, Kennedie L. Vote, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash near the intersection of Byerly Road near Germantown Hills.

Illinois State Police records indicated a crash was reported at 3:46 p.m. The preliminary investigation revealed a black Ford pickup driven by Rebecca Gorman, 18, of Washington, was traveling east when she lost control, striking the median guardrail. Gorman’s vehicle then traveled into the westbound lane and struck a Honda sedan driven by Vote. Debris from the crash struck a Honda van driven by Dawn Morris, 47, of East Peoria. She was treated for minor injuries at an area hospital. Gorman was issued a ticket for improper lane usage.

According to the ISP, the road was closed for several hours before it was eventually re-opened. The crash remains under investigation.
