MINONK – Bernice Louise Anderson, 93, died at 10:22 p.m., Thursday, May 10, 2018, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.
She was born July 24, 1924, in Minonk, the daughter of Frederick and Katie Timmerman Von Behren. She married Quinton C. Anderson on March 6, 1945, in Spokane, Wash.
Survivors include one son, James (Kitty) Anderson, Washburn; two daughters, Linda Muzzy and Jayne Harms, both of Minonk; seven grandchildren, Matthew Anderson, Craig Anderson, Kevin Anderson, Donald Muzzy Jr., Jennifer (Chris) Froman, Kimberly Cook and Nathan Cook and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Adalia Pescitelli and Helen Kemnitz, three brothers, William Von Behren, Delbert Von Behren and Donald Von Behren, and one granddaughter, Melissa Knoll.
Bernice worked as a lining trimmer at the Toluca Garment Factor, Toluca, for over a half-century before she retired in 2004. She was a member and regular donor of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Minonk. Bernice enjoyed reading, crocheting, sewing, jigsaw puzzles and being out gardening in her own yard. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially the babies.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Minonk Township Cemetery, Minonk. Visitation will take place Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk.
