CONGERVILLE – George P. Irick, Jr., 68, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, in rural Warren County, Ind.
He was born April 30, 1949, in Berwyn, the son of George P. and Jacqueline Jenkins Irick. He married Susan E. Walton on Feb. 12, 1972, in Winfield. She survives.
Other survivors include two sisters, Cynthia (Rob) Skidmore, Lombard and Judith (Dale) Hammersmith, West Chicago; many nieces and nephews and two horses, Bill and Yellow.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jacque Irick.
George worked as an IT analyst with State Farm in Bloomington for 14 years. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association (NRA), as well as a member of the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS), Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), Our Savior Lutheran Church, Winfield, and a Shriner. George was a 4-H air pistol instructor and a hunting/outdoor skills instructor. He was the founding member of the Midwest Rangers Mounted Shooting Club.
Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka with Jeff Grimm officiating. Visitation will take place Friday afternoon from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded after the service.
Memorials may be made to the Woodford County 4-H Foundation Shooting Sports or to any charity.
