ROANOKE – Janice Studer, 77, died at 8:33 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, at the Sugar Creek Alzheimer's Care Center in Normal.
She was born Jan. 4, 1941, in Earlville, the daughter of Ernest B. and Pauline Thompson Sprowls. She was married to Philip "Butch" Vogel for 20 years and later married Verle Studer on July 10, 1993, in Eureka. He died Jan. 12, 2010.
Survivors include one son, Jeff Vogel, Peoria; two daughters, Jill Hahn, Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Patti (Mike) Ackerman, Bloomington; two stepsons, Chuck (Janis) Studer and Rick (Laurie) Stauder; one stepdaughter, Jaime (Skip) Sauder; six grandchildren, Austin Vogel, Brock Vogel, Sarah Vogel, Alexis Ackerman, Madelyn Ackerman and Michael Ackerman; one brother, Carl (Nancy) Sprowls, Farmington and two sisters, Paula Sprowls, Speer and Wanda (Mike) Cutler, Wyoming.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gram, one sister, Nancy Cluney, and one nephew, Brian Cox.
Janice was a teacher at Metamora Grade School in Metamora for 25 years. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and crocheting, but especially enjoyed spending time with family and those she loved.
A private family service was held Feb. 18 at Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home, Roanoke. Visitation was before the service at the funeral home. Burial was in the Roanoke Mennonite Church Cemetery, rural Eureka.
