FARMINGTON - Eureka downed sectional host Farmington Monday night by scores of 25-21, 25-17.
Courtney Heffren rang up a personal-best 20 kills for the Hornets (29-7), 13 of which came in the second set.
“I just think she had a good matchup,” commented her mother, Eureka coach Tracy Heffren. “She was able to utilize the fact there was a smaller blocker on her and she took advantage.”
Hailey Flowers added eight kills for the winners. Bailey Shymansky's five kills led Farmington (18-14).
Eureka advances to Wednesday's 6 p.m. final against Heart of Illinois Conference foe Deer Creek-Mackinaw. In Tuesday's first match, the Chiefs (29-6-1) bounced Illini West 25-8, 25-22.
In the regular season meeting between the teams on Oct. 3, host Eureka edged DCM 25-17, 25-27, 25-22.
