VARNA - On the same floor 11 days ago, Midland sank double digit field goals from downtown against Tri-County Conference rival Roanoke-Benson.
"They shot the ball real well the last time, 10 of 22 on threes. They made six threes in the third quarter," recalled Rockets' coach Abe Zeller. "We made sure that would not happen again."
It did not, as R-B (15-11) limited the regional host Timberwolves (10-18) to only two of 19 from behind the arc in a 52-39 victory Tuesday night.
Brothers Jake (15) and Jack (14) Weber combined to score 29 points for the Rockets, who led by as many as 20. Zack Weber paced Midland with 11 points.
Notes: The R-B Webers outscored the Midland ones, Zack and Brad (three) 29 to 14. Brad Weber scored 17 points in the 54-49 upset win in the first meeting, a game the Rockets led 22-3 early in the second quarter.
