Performances from Anubhava Dance company, a group of young, academically active second generation North American Indian artists presenting a dance ensemble on Nov 11th, 2018 between 3pm -5pm followed by an interactive session. Anubhava Dance Company was founded in 2015 by Joshua George and Shriya Srinivasan in an effort to preserve and propagate these rich art forms in diverse settings across the United States. The company focuses on generating original choreography and compositions, experimenting with their bodies and minds, while adhering to the pristine form and classicism of Bharatanatyam - a 3000 year old classical art form. Bharatanatyam, believed to be the manifestation of fire in the body, is also considered to be the highest form of yoga practice. Anubhava, which translates to ‘the experience’, leverages the experiences of the first-generation artists to create productions that enable the audience to transcend worldly experience and inspire reflection on topics relevant to our daily lives.
