MINONK — Rosemary Lou Pogue Oldenburg of Minonk will celebrate her 90th birthday with a card shower on May 1. Her celebration with family will be July 4 in Minonk.

She was born May 1, 1929, in Shelby County. She married Arthur H. Oldenburg on Aug. 12, 1951. He passed away March 2, 2012. Her sister is Marjorie Christman of Shelbyville.

Her children are Rodney Oldenburg (Jan Filbeck-Oldenburg), Tallahassee, Fla.; Mark Oldenburg, Minonk; Perry Oldenburg, deceased, and daughter-in-law, Julie Humphreys, Tallahassee, Fla.; Delene Oldenburg (James Pringle), Minonk; Timothy Oldenburg (Asma Bayane), The Plains, Va.; David Oldenburg (Linda Hardt Oldenburg), Rockford. She has seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was an elementary school teacher, teaching third grade for 25 years. She enjoys flowers, birds, reading and travel. She has been active at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Findley Church of Christ, Woodford County Home Extension, Minonk Garden Club, volunteer at Heritage Health, Minonk Millennia Board, Lida Home Board and 708 Board Ottawa. She enjoyed travel to Australia, London, Alaska, etc., but most special, was fulfillment of a childhood dream to visit Heidiland, Switzerland, via an unexpected Rhine River cruise.
