Question: Has that famous ivy that hangs on the outfield walls of Chicago's Wrigley Field always been there?

Answer: Nope. The ivy has "only" been there 82 years. It was planted in 1937 as a novel idea to cover up the walls that needed endless painting, by Bill Veeck, who at that time also owned the crosstown Chicago White Sox and said it was difficult keeping up two ball parks at once.
