Question: The night of Nov. 8 will mark 35 years of what event in east Bloomington that put the city on a world map?

Answer: Nov. 8, 1983, was the discovery of the Hendricks murders, a family of four found bludgeoned in the beds of their east-side home that eventually also put local author Steve Vogel on the New York Times Best Sellers list with his book, "Reasonable Doubt." Vogel will appear and discuss the case at the McLean County Museum of History on Tuesday, the Gridley Public Library on Thursday, and the Bloomington Public Library on the anniversary, Nov. 8. His book, in the meantime, is now also available in audio form, narrated by Keith Sellon-Wright, who routinely is a "voice of The New York Times."
