Thacker earns life membership award
Carl Thacker of Carl's Pro Band in Bloomington has received the prestigious Life Membership Award from NAPBIRT (international band instrument repair association).
The award recognizes the many contributions Carl has made to the field of instrument repair and to the NAPBIRT organization in his 40-plus years of repair work. He was presented this award at the annual NAPBIRT conference in April.

Heartland Bank promotes Birlingmair
Heartland Bank and Trust Company proudly announces that Kevin Birlingmair was recently promoted to senior vice president–commercial lending. Since 2015, Birlingmair has been a valuable asset on the bank’s Bloomington-Normal team and assumed leadership of the bank’s Rural Market lending group in 2017.

He has vast experience in the financial and agricultural industries with over 22 years in banking, the last 12 in commercial lending with an emphasis on agribusiness. “Kevin is a dedicated leader and a well-known experienced professional in our local markets, and we are grateful to have him on our team,” said Larry Horvath, Heartland Bank executive vice president.
Dedicated to the community, Birlingmair holds leadership positions as president-elect of the Bloomington-Normal Sunrise Rotary, treasurer of the United Way of McLean County, vice president of the Community Cancer Center Foundation Board, board member with the Miller Park Zoological Society and Ag Council member with the McLean County Chamber of Commerce. He also volunteers with the Red Cross, Boys and Girls Club and numerous other local organizations.
Birlingmair graduated from Illinois State University with a bachelor of science, majoring in agribusiness with a minor in economics. He has been licensed in real estate sales and auctioneering in the state of Illinois and serves as auctioneer for many local charitable events today. In addition, he earned the Certified Crop Advisor Designation.
He makes his home in Bloomington with his wife, Shelleigh, and has two grown children, Nick and Kaylee.
