ROANOKE - Caleb and Erin Leman have been on a nine-year journey that has brought them to the doorstep of success. They are now poised to walk through it toward new and bigger things.
The couple’s lifelong dream of owning their own successful business started when they opened Caleri’s Café & Bakery at 321 Main St. The small restaurant and bakery combined his desire to own his own business with her love of baking and decorating to help mold their dream. The coupled combined the first three letters of their first names to create the restaurant's moniker.
“My family has always been into food, and my dad managed a restaurant at one point” Caleb said. "We try to serve food that other places do not."
Caleri's recently underwent an expansion project as they took over the space next door that housed a laundromat and turned it into additional dining area.
And, while the Lemans have no plans to be open regularly in the evenings, they are planning “special events” like a recent Fajita Night where they offered eat-in or take-out fajita dinners for a few hours for one night.
