ROANOKE - The Roanoke-Benson District 60 school board approved a tentative budget where revenues exceed expenses in all major funds at its meeting on Aug. 22.

The preliminary look expects total revenue in all funds of $7,232,779 and total expenses of $6,824,722 for a positive difference of $408,057. In the major funds, the district is expected to end in the black by $101,556 in the Education Fund, $68,844 in the Building Fund, and $6,288 in the Transportation Fund. Overall, both revenue and expenses are expected to increase over last year’s budget.

“The budget looks very good," noted board member Todd Harris.

The tentative budget is on display in the district office. The final budget may undergo changes before being approved after a public hearing at the Sept. 23 board meeting.
