EUREKA - The Woodford County Board stood firm on its position not to budget money for membership in regional economic development organizations during budget discussions at its Oct. 16 meeting.
Board member Russ Cotton moved to add $20,855 to the budget to fund membership in Community Economic Development (CEDS) as well as the Economic Development Council (EDC) and proposed a compromise to using the money.
“This gets us back in the door with EDC,” Cotton said.
He added he sent out 15 surveys to board members asking what they wanted to do with economic development, but had only had four surveys returned.
