EUREKA - Cornerstone Family Restaurant, located on the west side of town just off Center Street (U.S. Route 24), raised a total of $1,700 through a fundraiser that began May 5 and concluded June 15. The money will be evenly split among Heart House and the Food Pantry.
In return for each donation, individuals received five percent off food and beverage purchases for one year. Cards were sold for a $20 donation.
"We decided to do our own, but this time offering the donations to help feed and house the less fortunate, according to what the Bible says we are to do,” owner Donna Sweeney said.
According to Sweeney, the restaurant has done similar fundraisers in the past with the now-defunct Eureka Area Swim Team.
