QUARTET - Nathan (back row, left) and Jennifer (back row, right) Hostetler are pictured with their two oldest children, Lydia (front, left) and Jayvin (front, right). The couple took over ownership of The Dugout, located across from Eureka Middle School on S. Main Street, at the end of July.

EUREKA - Siblings Lydia and Jayvin Hostetler might be the youngest entrepreneurs around. Their parents, Jennifer and Nathan Hostetler, purchased The Dugout ice cream and sandwich stand at 1980 S. Main St., in late July. Since then Lydia, 9, and Jayvin, 8, have been learning about work ethic, customer service, ice cream making and money counting, according to their mother.

“We home school our children, so we thought that owning this as a family business would fit really well with our vision for our family,” said Jennifer Hostetler.

The family of seven resides in rural Danvers, located about 20 miles southeast of town.
