EUREKA - At Monday night's meeting, the District 140 school board decided to seek a $50,000 state grant. According to Assistant Superintendent Andy Underwood, the grant is designated for maintenance projects and the district has plans for major renovations of its HVAC systems for each of the three buildings in town, Davenport Elementary as well as the middle and high schools.

“School districts really need a project of at least $50,000 to make the grant worthwhile and our planned HVAC upgrades more than meet that need,” he said.

The district is hopeful the upgrades will be completed before the start of the new school year in mid-August.
