A GLIMPSE FROM THE PAST

RECENT EVENT - Saint Jude runners navigate up Lake Road during the 2017 run to Peoria. This year's installment, the fifth one from the Woodford County seat to the River City, is set for Aug. 3.

EUREKA - Sometimes what happens in a few hours can affect what happens in a lifetime.

The Eureka to Peoria St. Jude runners are hopeful that will happen when they culminate their fundraising activities with their annual run on Aug. 3. The runners will spend a few hours running and raising awareness and hoping their efforts will save the lives of more children.

“You do not have to be a serious runner,” said team leader Zack Sancken. “You just have to be serious about running. "It’s not a race for time, it’s a race for life."

Since its inception, the team has included runners from ages 16 to 69, as well as all different ability levels.
