EUREKA - At their April 8 meeting, the District 140 school board approved the abatement of working cash funds to assist in $1.3 million in upgrades.

“I feel that the actual costs will be less than that, but we have been planning for it,” stated Superintendent Bob Bardwell to the board. “We typically spend $170,000 to $200,000 out of our Operations & Maintenance fund on summer projects."

Among the projects will be the construction of a more secure entrance at the middle school and work at the bus garage located just south of the high school. In addition, improvements will be made to the north entrance on the north side near the gymnasium and widening of the parking setback both at the high school. Other projects will be occurring at Davenport Elementary and Goodfield Grade.
