BENSON - Kyle Fellner has been named teacher of the year by the Junior Achievement of Central Illinois (JACL). He will be recognized at a banquet in late February. Over the last two years, Fellner has worked extensively with JACL in designing and teaching an elective class on money and financing.
He teaches language and spelling in grades seven and eight at Roanoke-Benson Junior High School. In addition, he is the faculty sponsor for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and also coaches boys' basketball and track.
The JACL operates in 113 schools in organizations within seven counties. During the last school year, 583 volunteers delivered programs in 804 classrooms, impacting over 17,000 students in Central Illinois.
