ROANOKE - The Apostolic Christian Home will hold its annual homecoming event this weekend. The slate is as follows:
Auction items can be dropped off at the auction tent from noon to 2 p.m. There will be a public preview of the items in the tent from 4 to 8 p.m. Items for the bake sale can be dropped off in the Country View lobby and items for the Farmer’s Market can be dropped off at the north end of the food tent from noon to 3 p.m. The Bake Sale will be held in the Country View lobby from 4 to 8 p.m., and the Farmer’s Market will also be from 4 to 8 p.m. at the north end of the food tent. Fried fish dinners and grilled marinated chicken breast dinners will be held in the food tent from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Dinner includes fish or chicken, baked potato with butter and sour cream, green beans, bread and butter, iced tea and lemonade. Homemade pie will be sold separately by the slice. Cost is $10 per person. Alive in Hymn, a men’s quartet gospel group will entertain from 6:15 to 7 p.m. Members of the group are Reggie Wuethrich, Jim Hodel, Brent Hodel and Ben Leman

The day will begin with a pancake and sausage breakfast in the food tent from 7 to 9:30 a.m. The menu includes pancakes, sausage, applesauce, orange juice, milk or coffee. The cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children, ages 3-12 with children age 2 and under free. Gospel singing by Randy, Jan and Ross Martin will take place between 9 and 9:40 a.m. The children’s activities start at 9:30 a.m. There will be an inflatable dual slide, Ninja Challenge Obstacle Course, balloon art, face painting, puppy petting area, free snow cones and cotton candy all with the purchase of a wrist band for $10 for entry into the children’s activities. A welcome, prayer and testimonial will be given at 9:45 a.m., followed by the start of the live auction at 10 a.m. Food booths open for lunch at 11 a.m. Lunch options included grilled butterfly pork chop sandwich, $5, grilled hot dogs, $2, barbecued pulled pork sandwich, $5, walking tacos, $4, nachos and cheese, $2, homemade pie by the slice, $3, homemade chocolate chip cookies, $1.50, soft serve ice cream, $2, hot and iced latte/cappuccino, $4, lemon shake-ups, $2, cotton candy (without wristband), $2, snow cone (without wristband), $2, pop or bottled water, $1.
In addition, lunch items will be sold by purchasing tickets. Each ticket costs $1 and can be purchased the day of at the cashier’s tent.
