GOODFIELD - Service with a smile is nothing new for Jill Merritt. She’s been delivering mail, doling out stamps, weighing packages and processing mail for the postal service for 27 years. And, during that whole time, she has just kept smiling.
“I love them here,” Merritt said. “Goodfield is a great town.”
Now, a huge banner displayed on the customer service counter at the post office reaffirms her positive efforts at that particular facility.
She was tabbed as a winner in the Division VI Summer Madness Best Customer Service Performance award through the postal system. The award was determined from the results of her customers filling out surveys on their receipts that rated her among the best in customer service skills. The contest serves as a way for the post office to get a gauge in terms of feedback about employees and how he/she are serving the communities where they work.
