EUREKA - The Woodford County Board seated new members and began a new fiscal year under new leadership on Monday. John Krug was chosen to serve as chair for the second time since he's been on the board, which began in 2002. Barry Logan was named vice chair. New members seated included: Emily Barker and Justin Faulk in District I, Josh Davis and Charles Nagel in District II and Jason Spence and Dan Steffen to represent District III.
The board were also assigned to various committees. Ex-county offices committee chair Bryant Kempf voted against the assignments due to the fact none of the former committee members were reappointed to the new committee at a time when major changes are taking place.
“County Offices has been undergoing quite a few changes recently,” Kempf said. “Putting one of the (former committee) members on it would be very helpful with the transition.”
That committee has recently been involved with the purchase of a building to house the county's health department, which is not yet finished. Kempf had played a prominent role in those negotiations.
