ROANOKE - Local officials plan to hold an informational open house to give the public an opportunity to visit the new water plant and see how it operates, it was determined at Monday night's village board meeting. It will be held this Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m.

Staggered tours, sign boards and handouts will be provided to help explain the equipment in the plant. Engineers and board members will also be on hand to answer questions. The board expects about 200 people to attend.

In addition, the board approved an amendment to its noise ordinance that prohibits hours of unreasonable, disturbing and unnecessary noises between the hours of 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. with the exception of the park pool for swim meets and any Roanoke-Benson Recreation Association (RBRA)-sponsored activities. Previously, the ordinance stated such noise should cease by 8 p.m.
