EUREKA - A resurfacing of a portion of North Main Street appears to be in the works this summer. Local officials were recently notified by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
Specifically, it will be the area along Main from Graham St. north to the bridge near the Loft. In addition, the town will avoid an additional $16,500 cost by designating it as "no parking," the approximately 1,700 feet from Graham north to the bridge. Because of width, the area does not qualify for parking. Any individual that parks in this area will receive a $10 fine for each offense.
Bids will be accepted next month and construction is expected to start during the summer.
