EUREKA – Robert “Bob” Johann Sr., 84, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2018, at his home in Peoria.
He was born July 31, 1934, in Eureka, the son of Carl and Ruth Hagan Johann. He married Joan Rotes in 1954 in Eureka and later married Pearl Pshebelski in 1986. She preceded him in death. He later married Ellen Frankel in 2014. She survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Becki Nunnally, Zionsville, Ind., Peg (John) Sauder, Carmel, Ind., and Liz (Dave) Rebmann, Tremont; two sons, Chip Johann, Morton and Bob (Lisa) Johann Jr., Washington; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Sue (Merritt) Ridlbauer, Jacksonville, Ala., and one daughter-in-law, Barb Pshebelski.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one stepson, Dennis Pshebelski.
Bob graduated from Eureka High School in 1952 and attended Eureka College, Eureka, where he played football and was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha. He worked for 39 years at Hagerty Steel in East Peoria and also was a part-time officer with the Eureka Police Department for 25 years. Bob was a founder of the Eureka Rescue Squad, a 63-year member of Taylor Masonic Lodge No. 98 and a former alumni advisor for many years with Lambda Chi Alpha at EC.
Services were Dec. 19 at Olio Township Cemetery, Eureka.
