She was preceded in death by her parents and one niece.

Carol spent much of her childhood caring for her sick mother. She quickly realized her passion for serving others, as she entered the field of nursing and later graduated from the Mennonite College of Nursing in Bloomington in 1977. Carol began her career working at Eureka Hospital, then as a neo-natal nurse at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, and later, she spent many years as a house supervisor at BroMenn Healthcare in Normal. After her years as house supervisor, she worked as manager of BroMenn Employee Health and manager of Health Point Urgent Care. Carol loved her job, her co-workers and caring for her patients. She worked as a registered nurse (RN) for 30 years. Married for 42 years, she was a devoted wife and mother. The couple began to raise their five children in Eureka and later moved to Goodfield. Possessing a true servant’s heart, she faithfully cared for her family. She found joy in being surrounded by her children and grandchildren, especially during the holidays. Carol enjoyed reading, cooking, listening to music and playing games with her family and friends.  Her nurturing spirit will be dearly missed.
