GOODFIELD – Donna Lynne Knapp, 72, died at 8:30 a.m., Friday, May 31, 2019, at the McLean County Nursing Home in Normal.
She was born Dec. 22, 1946, in Chicago, the daughter of Robert and Sybil Cummins Nolan. She married Donald Knapp Sr. on Nov. 5, 1967, in Evergreen Park. He survives.
Other survivors include two children, Kelly Knapp and Donald (Jennifer Deighan) Knapp Jr., and four grandchildren, Josh Pilat, Charles Knapp, James Knapp and Annie Knapp, all of Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Gayle Nelson and Janet Regan.

Donna was born and raised on the south side of Chicago. She graduated from Illinois State University, Normal, with a bachelor’s degree in physical education and business. Donna began her teaching career in Heyworth, where she taught and coached high school volleyball and girls’ track. Her career spanned over 34 years. Donna was proud of all of her students, but was especially proud to have coached female athletes and contributed to the many positive accomplishments by many of them. She loved her family and friends and was loved by all who knew her.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held June 29 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Bloomington Country Club, Bloomington. Tributes will start at 4:30 p.m. and anyone wishing to offer one is welcome. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is in charge of the arrangements.
