ROANOKE – Evelyn M. Kennell, 84, died at 6:55 p.m., Friday, Nov. 2, 2018, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born April 20, 1934, near Roanoke, the daughter of Harold W. and Anna E. Reber Zoss. She married Robert L. Kennell on June 24, 1954. He survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Joyce (Roger) Ulrich, Metamora; three sons, Ron (Arlene) Kennell and Darryl (Rhoda) Kennell, both of Roanoke, and Keith (Kelly) Kennell, Lowpoint; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren with another on the way; one brother Harold (Lorene) Zoss, rural Roanoke and one sister, Shirley Zoss, rural Roanoke.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, one granddaughter and one daughter-in-law.
Evelyn was a housewife most of her life. She enjoyed working outdoors in the summer in the yard and in the garden.
Services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Linn Mennonite Church, rural Roanoke, with ministers of the church officiating. Visitation will take place Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home in Metamora and Wednesday morning from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow the service in the Roanoke Mennonite Church Cemetery, rural Eureka.
