CONGERVILLE – Imogene M. McGraw, 83, died at 9:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, at Heritage Manor in El Paso.
She was born Dec. 10, 1935, in Roseland, La., the daughter of Jesse W. and Myrtis Mixon Corkern.
Survivors include five children, R. Carey (Glenda) McGraw, Congerville, and Joanne (Nicky) Armoney, Kathy Nunez, Todd McGraw and Beth Bares, all of Baton Rouge, La.; eight grandchildren, Clint (Megan) McGraw, Nathan McGraw, Jene’ (Tom) Forney, Nicolas (Nicole) Armoney, Lucas (Daniel) Johnson, Ashley Bares, Marty (Maggie) McGraw and Justin Nunez; seven great-grandchildren and three sisters, Jeanine Knight, Bogalusa, La., Evelyn Ratcliff, Franklinton, La., and Shirley Stogner of the state of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Jesse Corkern Jr., and one sister, Hazel Sinopoli.
Imogene worked at various daycares (child care and cook) and also provided child care for individual families. She was a member of Superior Baptist Church, Bogulusa. Imogene loved children. Her favorite pastimes were reading and quilting. Imogene was an avid Louisiana State University (LSU) fan.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A private family service will take place Feb. 2 at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka. Burial of cremains will be held following the service in Olio Township Cemetery, Eureka.
