EL PASO – Jim L. Hinthorne, 72, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019, at his home in El Paso.
He was born Nov. 19, 1946, in El Paso, the son of Laurence “Bud” and Viola Scott Hinthorne.
Survivors include his mother of Roanoke; two sons, Chad Hinthorne and Kurt Hinthorne, both of El Paso; three grandchildren, Jessica Hinthorne, Austin Hinthorne and and Parker Hinthorne; two brothers, Harry (Debbie) Hinthorne, Bloomington and Jeff (Diane) Hinthorne, El Paso; three sisters, Ruth Rutledge and Janet (Randy) Pomeranke, both of Roanoke, and Pat Blue, El Paso and one sister-in-law, Karlene Hinthorne, Ft. Gaines, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his father, one son, Scott Hinthorne, one brother, John Hinthorne, three brothers-in-law, Larry Rutledge, Rich Knepp and Dale Blue and one nephew, Tony Hinthorne.
Jim graduated from El Paso High School in 1964. He worked at the Bloomington Post Office for many years before he retired in 2016.
Services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, El Paso. Visitation will take place Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Hinthorn Cemetery near Lake Bloomington.
