EL PASO – Linda L. Hasselbacher, 66, died at 9 a.m., Monday, May 20, 2019, at her home in rural El Paso after losing her battle with cancer.
She was born Feb. 25, 1953, in Streator, the daughter of Winifield “Bud” and Marilyn Carr Koch. She married Vernon Hasselbacher on March 10, 1973, in El Paso. He survives.
Other survivors include her mother of El Paso; three children, Erik (Lee Ann) Hasselbacher, Eureka, Stefani (Eddie) Oltman, Benson and Shannon Ramsey, El Paso; nine grandchildren and two sisters, Kathy (Keith) Kelsey, Minonk and Dianna (Dan) Metroff, Morton.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Linda believed in family first. She was a selfless woman who found her joy in helping the ones she loved. Linda took pride in her home inside and out. She enjoyed the opportunity to spend a warm afternoon on her lawnmower as much as a sunny relaxing day on the beach.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, El Paso. Visitation will take place Saturday morning from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded after the service. Burial of cremains will be held in Evergreen Cemetery in El Paso.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
