CONGERVILLE – Sharon K. McClure, 76, died Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.
She was born July 23, 1942, in Peoria, the daughter of Walter and Erma Hoerr Miller. She married Robert McClure on Aug. 5, 1961, in Carlock. He survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Jeff (Marilyn) McClure, Roanoke, Bill (Shannon) McClure, Germantown Hills and David (Kristin) McClure, Bloomington; one daughter, Crystal (Kent) Remmert, Goodfield; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Jack (Jean) Miller, Marco Island, Fla.; her stepmother, Betty Miller, Eureka and one son-in-law, Randy (Lori) Leman, Roanoke.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Kimberly Leman.
Sharon worked for State Farm for two years before devoting her time to raising her family. She was a member of the Congerville Apostolic Christian Church, Congerville. Faith and family were instrumental in her life and she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and her church family. Sharon enjoyed painting ceramics, taking pictures and raising gourds and pumpkins. She especially enjoyed watching her family show sheep and participating in sheep lead.
Services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the church with ministers of the church officiating. Visitation will take place today from 4 to 7 p.m. at Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke and Friday morning from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow the service in the Goodfield-Congerville AC Church Cemetery, rural Goodfield.
