MINONK- Five consecutive touchdowns propelled Fieldcrest to a 42-7 victory over Heart of Illinois Conference foe Tremont in a crossover game Friday at Veteran's Park.

The teams were tied at seven before the Knights (3-0) took the lead for good in the second quarter at 14-7 on a 10-yard touchdown run from Kenton Castrejon, who finished with 24 carries for 157 yards. Jacob Joyal added the point after kick.

Fieldcrest amassed 408 yards of total offense. Quarterback Matt Lorton completed 12 of 16 passes for 133 yards and a TD in just over two quarters of action. Tisen Covington recorded eight catches for an even 100 yards.

"I was not expecting it," commented Knights' coach Derek Schneeman of how in tune the offense has been so far. "We came out and executed. We're at our best when we run the ball. That opens up the short passing game. If we can get the run game going early, that's where our offense is at it's best."

Through three games, Fieldcrest have piled up a total of 114 points, as they went over 40 for the second time.

The lone Tremont (2-1) score was a six-yard TD run by Tyler Antwerp late in the opening stanza.

Notes: The Knights scored on each of their first six possessions. They converted 10 of 13 on third down and a perfect four of four on fourth, which resulted in two TDs.
