MINONK - Host Fieldcrest sowed up regional championship number 13 Friday with a 59-45 triumph over Watseka.

Less than 30 seconds into the second quarter, the Knights (21-9) held a 19-4 lead, but they knew the game was far from over.

"We said they're going to come back and make it a game," commented Fieldcrest coach Matt Winkler, who won his 566th game as the program's lone coach. "We needed four quarters to win and we did."

Point guard Jaxon Cusac-McKay led all scorers with 20 points, while the Warriors (19-9) received 16 from Ben Lyznicki.

The Knights move onto play the Westmont Sentinels (25-6) Tuesday with a 7 p.m. tip at the Peotone Sectional.

Notes: Watseka's only lead of the evening was 27-26 in the third quarter. Outside of ties at 29 and 32, Fieldcrest was on top the rest of the way. The Knights recorded 40 points in the paint.
